DOUGLAS BORCHARDT INDUCTED INTO FAIR HALL OF FAME

  

Longtime Washington County Fair volunteer, Douglas Borchardt, was recently inducted into the Texas Association of Fairs and Events Hall of Fame.

According to a press release, the inductions are for those who have made significant contributions to their fair or event, and the Texas Association of Fairs and Events, that have exceeded the expectations of those around them and have been examples of dedication, integrity and professionalism.

Borchardt has been a volunteer at the Washington County Fair for over 40 years.

He served as Fair President in 1984 and 1985, and has served on the Board of Directors since then.

Borchardt has served in many leadership roles within the Texas Association of Fairs and Events.

He served the organization as the First Vice President in 2019, and served as President in 2020.

Borchardt also received the Volunteer of the Year award in 2008.
