BRENHAM ISD RECEIVES ‘BEST OF THE BUNCH’ AWARD IN FARM FRESH CHALLENGE
Brenham ISD’s Child Nutrition Department has earned esteemed recognition from the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA).

Brenham ISD was named a recipient of the TDA’s “Best of the Bunch” Award for the 2023 Farm Fresh Challenge. The district is one of 91 winners of the “Best of the Bunch” Award, the highest award tier available.
Through the challenge, the district’s efforts promote local agriculture and its integration into school menus to enrich the nutritional offerings available to students.
The challenge is part of Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller’s Farm Fresh Initiative, which was created to connect farmers and ranchers with operators of nutrition programs administered by TDA.
The Child Nutrition Department previously received recognition in the Farm Fresh Challenge for the spring and fall of 2021.
Brenham ISD congratulated its nutrition staff, calling this a “remarkable achievement.”
