BRENHAM SCHOOL BOARD TO NAME LONE SUPT. FINALIST THURSDAY
The Brenham School Board will look to name the lone finalist for school district superintendent when it meets on Thursday.
Trustees voted at their last meeting on February 19th to reopen the search for superintendent to internal applicants only. The position was posted for 10 days, and the board now has the opportunity to name a finalist.
The role of acting superintendent has been held by Clay Gillentine since October, following the departure of former superintendent Dr. Tylor Chaplin. Trustees decided in November to pause their search for a new superintendent until the spring.
Once a lone finalist is named, the board must wait 21 days before it takes a final vote on hiring the chosen candidate.
Among other business to be taken up will be a presentation on teacher incentive allotments and a budget update. There will also be special recognition of staff and students, including members of the Challenging Scientific Investigations (CSI) LEGO League teams.
In an executive session, board members will consider and possibly approve contracts for directors and principals for the 2024-25 school year.
The board will meet Thursday at 6 p.m. in rooms 111 and 113 at Brenham High School. The meeting will be livestreamed on Brenham ISD’s YouTube channel.
