PANTHERS CRUSH SNOOK 16-0 IN DISTRICT GAME

The Burton Panther Baseball Team scored early and often as they defeated the Snook Blue Jays 16-0 in a game that only went three innings.

Tyler Witt lead off the game with a walk, and stole second. Logun Tosta reached on a bunt single that also allowed Witt to get to third. Brayden Martin walked to load the bases. Colby Beck then drew another walk to give Burton a 1-0 lead. Bryson Biggs hit into a fielder's choice. On an error by Snook, Tosta and Martin both scored to make it 3-0 Panthers. Reuben Rodriguez and Brady Griffin drew back-to-back walks to re-load the bases. Eli Simank followed with a two-run single that scored Bryson and Rodriguez. That increased the Panther lead to 5-0.

Witt came up for the second time in the inning and hit a two-run double to bring in Griffin and Simank to make it 7-0. Tosta hit an RBI double of his own to score Witt, and give Burton an 8-0 lead after half an inning.

Beck started off the second inning with a single. Bryson Biggs was then hit by a pitch. Rodriguez brought them both home on a two-run triple to increase the Burton lead to 10-0. Ryder Biggs reached on an error that allowed Rodriguez to scored the Panthers' 11th run of the game. Ryder stole second and third. Simank reached on an error when the Snook centerfielder dropped a fly ball. The error also allowed Ryder to score, and give Burton a 12-0 lead.

Witt was hit by a pitch. Then, Tosta picked up his third hit of the game, a two-run triple, which scored Simank and Witt to make it 14-0. Tosta, then scored on a passed ball to make it 15-0 Panthers.

Burton would add more run in the top of the third. Mark Odom singled. Later in the inning, Beck reached on an error, which also allowed Odom to score.

Witt pitched three no-hit innings to get the win.

Next up, Burton hosts Snook on Friday night at 6:30pm.
