BURTON CITY COUNCIL TO CONSIDER INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH COUNTY FOR ROAD REPAIRS

The Burton City Council will meet Tuesday to act on an interlocal agreement with Washington County for road repairs in the 2024-25 Fiscal Year.

Last month, the council accepted a list of road repairs to be completed by the county’s Engineering and Development Services Department, for a total cost of $69,120.

The repairs include Live Oak Street, East Cedar Street, Brandie Lane, a level up on West Washington Street, the South Main Street ditches and chip sealing on San Marcos Street.

Other council business on Tuesday will include a resolution to approve a municipal maintenance agreement between the city and the Texas Department of Transportation.

Councilmembers are expected to approve amended budgets for the 2023-24 Fiscal Year reflecting fourth quarter income and expenses.  In addition, they will look to accept the 2023-24 Fiscal Year audit of the seizure funds account, as required by the code of criminal procedure.

The council will also read a proclamation of appreciation of Burton Bridge Ministry volunteers.

The council will meet Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Burton City Hall.
