BRENHAM POLICE MAKE FOUR ARRESTS ON SUNDAY

Brenham police arrested four people for various charges on Sunday.

Just before 5 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 600 block of North Market Street in reference to a welfare concern.  Police found that the occupant of the vehicle, 44-year-old Phillip Grant Jennings of Emory, was in possession of marijuana and a firearm.  Jennings was transported to the Washington County Jail and booked in for Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz. and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.

Shortly before 11:15 a.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious person at a business in the 2500 block of South Day Street.  The caller advised there was a female in the bathroom who had been there for a few hours and believed she may have been trying to steal.  Upon their arrival, police found the woman in the bathroom attempting to flush stolen cosmetic items down the toilet.  They also located two marijuana pipes containing residue.  38-year-old Lauren Penick Vinlove of Austin was taken into custody for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Theft $100-$750.  Vinlove was booked in at the Washington County Jail.

At 7:30 p.m., Sergeant Jimmy Ha stopped a vehicle near the 2100 block of Highway 290 West.  Police report that prior to stopping, the vehicle evaded and illegal contraband was thrown out.  The driver, 32-year-old Frederick Jackson of Temple, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana Under 2oz., two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Evading Arrest or Detention with a Vehicle, Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence with Intent to Impair, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.

Around 10:30 p.m., officers responded to the 2300 block of South Day Street in reference to a reported stolen vehicle being located.  Investigation determined it was a civil matter, and the vehicle was not stolen.  35-year-old Chad Eric Skelton of Winfree was arrested and taken to the Washington County Jail on an active warrant out of Chambers County for Motion to Revoke – Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Information, 10-50 Items.
