The brief program honored the late John Hermann for his many years of contributions and support for the Main Street program.  Main Street presented a Legacy Award on his behalf to John’s widow, Patsy, and his daughter, Jennifer.

Also recognized was long-time Main Street Director Jennifer Eckermann, who is now the City of Brenham’s Tourism and Marketing Director.  Eckermann thanked John Barnhill for asking her to get involved with Main Street when it was just getting started in Brenham, saying her three-year commitment turned into a career of over 20 years with the city.

Guests at the event also watched a video offering a glimpse into the newly revealed third volume of “Recollections: An Oral History of Brenham”.  The collection of memories and imagery from Brenham’s past features interviews with community figures who have long-standing connections to the city.  A screening for the film is expected to be held in the next few weeks.
