CITY OF BRENHAM APPOINTS TWO TO LEADERSHIP POSITIONS

The City of Brenham announced this afternoon that they have name two people to leadership positions.

Julie Flagg has been named as the new Chief Financial Officer. In her new capacity, Flagg will oversee all the operations of the finance realm, and strategic budgeting functions within the City of Brenham.

She will report directly to City Manager Carolyn Miller

Flagg is a 1989 graduate of Texas A&M with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance. Throughout her career, she has held pivotal financial roles in organizations such as O.I. Corporation, Freebirds World Burrito, Emerson, and most recently, Valmont Industries, where she served as Site Controller.

In accepting her new role, Flagg said that she is committed to building on the city’s financial stability and serving its citizens with the utmost integrity.

William Bissette (City of Brenham)

Meanwhile, William Bissette has been named as the new General Manager of Public Utilities.

Bissette will oversee the management and operations of the city’s utilities division, ensuring the delivery of reliable and efficient services to residents and businesses of Brenham.

Bissette has extensive municipal experience including the City of Bryan, where he spent over 17 years starting as a Journeyman Lineman and advancing to Supervisor.

He also served the City of Seguin as the Director of Utilities for over a decade during which time he contributed significantly to their infrastructure development.

Bissette also held key roles at Floresville Electric Light and Power, and McCord Engineering. 

Bissette said that he is looking forward to learning his role within the team and contributing positively as they work together to serve the community.
