MADISON MORAN RECEIVES TEXAS FFA SCHOLARSHIP, RANKS HIGH IN STATE PUBLIC SPEAKING CONTEST

  

A recent graduate of Brenham High School and member of the Brenham FFA continues to excel in her FFA involvement and achievements.

Madison Moran has been named a Texas FFA Scholarship recipient.  Moran interviewed with a panel of judges at Tarleton State University and is the recipient of the $10,000 Richard Wallrath Educational Foundation Scholarship.  She will be recognized on stage to receive the honor at the Texas FFA Convention on July 11th in Houston. 

Moran also recently competed in the Texas FFA Senior Prepared Public Speaking Contest at Tarleton State University.  She finished 10th in the state out of 176 senior speakers in Speaking Development Events.

Moran prepared a speech in the Ag Policy division and qualified for state after 1st place success in the district and area contests.  Her speech covered pesticides and Parkinson’s Disease, and the relationship of chemical use/abuse and disease.  The contest was comprised of a 7-minute speech and questions from judges about comprehensive research and policy topics.

Moran was advised and supported by Ag teachers and FFA Advisors Travis Gonzales and Jordan Kaminski in both her scholarship and speaking contest endeavors. 

Madison is the daughter of David and Christy Moran.  She will be a freshman at Texas A&M University in the fall, majoring in animal science.
