CHAPPELL HILL WELCOMES BIG CROWDS FOR SCARECROW FESTIVAL
The streets of Chappell Hill were filled to the brim this weekend, as visitors flocked to town for the 47th Annual Scarecrow Festival.
Thousands of people were on hand on Saturday and Sunday to shop at hundreds of vendors selling a vast variety of items, listen to live entertainment and enjoy a family-friendly atmosphere.
Joel Romo, past president of the Chappell Hill Historical Society, says it was another exciting and successful festival.
Romo says the event brings in people from all over the state, with most visitors coming from other cities and metropolitan areas to experience the countryside.
All of the money raised at the Scarecrow Festival and the spring Bluebonnet Festival supports the Historical Society, allowing it to continue promoting Chappell Hill’s heritage through the preservation of its historic buildings and through educational programs.
