WASHINGTON CO. JUNETEENTH KICKOFF CELEBRATION FRIDAY, PARADE SATURDAY

  

The Washington County Juneteenth Association will host a range of activities this weekend as part of the annual celebration of Juneteenth.

Tomorrow (Friday) will be the Kickoff event at Fireman’s Park in Brenham, beginning at 6 p.m.  Music will be provided by Keyun and the Zydeco Masters, and food and drinks will be available. 

A parade will ride through downtown Brenham on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.  Entries will start lining up for the parade at 8 a.m.  KWHI will broadcast the parade live on AM 1280, FM 101.7 and kwhi.com. 

Following the parade, the public is invited back out to Fireman’s Park for music, vendors, carousel rides and bounce houses.

Admission for all Juneteenth activities is free.  Contingency plans are being prepared in case of inclement weather this weekend.
