During the post’s most recent steak supper on August 1st, State Representative Trey Wharton made a surprise appearance to present post members with a resolution that was read during the current special session of the Texas Legislature.
The resolution commends the post for earning All-State and All-American status for the 2024-25 year, saying the designations “honor units that go above and beyond in fulfilling the VFW’s mission of supporting veterans, promoting patriotism, and engaging with the community.”
All-State status goes to posts that meet or exceed state requirements, while the All-American designation goes to a small percentage of the top-performing posts across the country.
The resolution further states that through the dedication of many hours by post members to a range of initiatives, including student and teacher recognition efforts and fundraising, the post “has greatly benefited the Brenham community and the individuals it serves, and all those associated with the group may take pride in their exceptional contributions.”
