BRENHAM STATE SUPPORTED LIVING CENTER EMPLOYEE ARRESTED ON INJURY CHARGE

  

An employee at the Brenham State Supported Living Center has been barred from the facility after his arrest early this (Thursday) morning on a charge of injuring an individual.

Brenham police report that just shy of 2:30 a.m., Officer Trinten Rolling, Corporal Alex Saenz, Sergeant Tiffany Anderson and Officer Ronnie Jackson responded to the 4000 block of Highway 36 South in reference to an assault. 

After investigation, 46-year-old Brandon Richardson of Bryan was placed into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail for Intentional Bodily Injury to a Child/Elderly/Disabled Individual – State Facility Employee.  Richardson also had an outstanding Brenham Municipal Court warrant for Driving While License Invalid. 

Richardson, according to the Texas Health and Human Services (HHSC) Press Office, is a Direct Support Professional II.  The press office stated that he has been placed on leave and barred from the Brenham State Supported Living Center, adding, “The health and safety of our residents is HHSC’s highest priority.”

No further details were available regarding the nature of the incident or the condition of the victim.  The press office said HHSC cannot confirm or deny if a person is a resident at a state supported living center, due to Texas law and HIPAA guidelines.
