BRENHAM MCJROTC WINS FIRST OVERALL AT TRAVIS DRILL MEET

Cadets brought home first place overall in both the Unarmed and Armed Divisions. 

The Unarmed Division swept all major categories, taking first in Inspection, Color Guard, Regulation and Exhibition.  Jaqueline Salinas was named Outstanding Color Guard Commander, and Valeria Alfaro earned Outstanding Regulation Commander.

Meanwhile, the Armed Division secured first place in Color Guard, Regulation and Exhibition.  Keilah Zamora was recognized as Outstanding Armed Color Guard Commander, while Allison Mendoza was named Outstanding Armed Regulation Commander.

MCJROTC Instructor Captain Jeffrey Bayse said he is “tremendously proud” of each member of the unit.  He said the cadets “performed with incredible discipline and heart” and that, “Their success is a direct result of countless hours of practice, strong teamwork, and the pride they carry for Brenham.”

Brenham High School Principal Michael Watts said the MCJROTC program “continues to demonstrate excellence at the highest level.”  He added, “Their leadership, character, and commitment set a powerful example for our campus. We are proud to celebrate their achievements and the way they represent Brenham High School.”

Next up for the program is a competition on Saturday at John Jay High School in San Antonio.
