BRENHAM PD TERMINATES OFFICER FOR POLICY VIOLATIONS
An officer with the Brenham Police Department has been terminated after an internal investigation into allegations of policy violations resulted in the discovery of separate violations.
The police department said in a release late Wednesday that in late December, it initiated an internal affairs investigation immediately after receiving a complaint with allegations of misconduct against two officers.
Police Chief Gary Boshears told KWHI that after investigating, the allegations that were in the complaint were “not sustained”, meaning there was “insufficient evidence to prove or disprove the allegations”. However, while investigating the complaint, the department discovered policy violations not directly related to the initial allegations, which resulted in termination of one of the officers involved in the original complaint.
Boshears identified the officer disciplined as Ramon Torres, who was terminated on Wednesday. The other officer was identified as Sergeant Tiffany Anderson, who Boshears said was placed on administrative leave with Torres while the investigation was ongoing but did not receive disciplinary action. She was taken off of administrative leave on January 16th.
The department said it handles all complaints through a “fair, impartial, and comprehensive review process”, and that complaints are “evaluated based on the facts and evidence gathered during the investigation.” The department said it appreciates community members who bring concerns forward and that it “remains committed to accountability and transparency.”
Full press release below from the Brenham Police Department:
In late December 2025, the Brenham Police Department received a complaint with allegations against two officers employed by the department. Immediately upon receiving the complaint, the department initiated an Internal Affairs investigation. Upon completion of a comprehensive investigation, the allegations in the complaint were determined to be unsubstantiated.
During the course of the Internal Affairs investigation, the investigation revealed separate violations of department policy by one of the officers named in the complaint. As a result of these violations of department policy, appropriate disciplinary action against the officer was taken.
As the initial allegations against both officers were unsubstantiated, there was no disciplinary action taken against either officer based on these allegations.
All complaints are handled through a fair, impartial, and comprehensive review process. Each complaint is evaluated based on the facts and evidence gathered during the investigation. The Brenham Police Department appreciates community members who bring concerns forward and remains committed to accountability and transparency.
