WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO VOTE ON ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIC PLAN

Washington County Commissioners will act Tuesday on adopting a three-year economic development strategic plan.

The plan from Brenham | Washington County Economic Development was approved by the Brenham City Council at its meeting on February 19th.  The plan lays out strategic priorities for the economic development department to pursue and identifies targeted industries to attract to or expand in the county.

Other action will include approving the appointment of the EMS Director for a pay rate exceeding the 6 percent allowable amount, in accordance with county policy.  Taylor Leonard was introduced during the court’s previous meeting as the department’s interim director, following the departure of Kevin Deramus.

Also at the meeting, commissioners will take up an item to utilize the services of Public Sector Personnel Consultants to conduct a county salary survey.  The cost for the services is not to exceed $26,500.

In other business, commissioners will:

  • Potentially accept a donation of $150,784 from Magnolia Oil and Gas Operating, LLC for roadway improvements on Koether Road, Moye Road and Bascome Lane in Precinct 4.
  • Act on a professional services agreement with Tyler Technologies, Inc. for Enterprise Justice implementation services for the county clerk, district clerk, county court and district court in an amount not to exceed $198,734.
  • Consider a budget amendment for a line item for EMS machinery and equipment from other contingency.
  • Receive the Engineering and Development Services Department’s quarterly report.
  • Discuss a formal notice from Industry Communications for a new service line installation in the county right-of-way of Bascome Lane in Precinct 4.
