JUNIOR CORONATION BRINGS 136TH MAIFEST CELEBRATION TO CLOSE

The 136th Brenham Maifest came to an end on Saturday with the coronation of the Junior Court.
Queen Kate Elizabeth Flisowski and King Travis Michael Hopkins reigned over the court of “Safari: A Journey into the Wild!”
The coronation explored many different wildlife and nature scenes, from the Sahara, to the mountains, to the jungle. It also featured callbacks to iconic characters like Indiana Jones, Lara Croft and Tarzan.
While the start of the coronation was delayed by half an hour after rain pushed through the area, festivities were able to continue without trouble and put the bow on a memorable weekend.
Visitors enjoyed German food and music, carnival games and rides, beer tasting, Friday’s Senior Coronation, and Saturday’s parade through downtown Brenham.
