BENTKE AND HARDY HEADLINE LOCAL PLAYERS SELECTED THSBCA ALL-STATE TEAMS

Two members of the Brenham Cub Baseball Team and other players from around the area have been honored with selections to the Texas High School Baseball Coach's Association All State Team.

For the Cubs, OF Drake Bentke was named to the Class 5A All-State First Team after helping to lead the Cubs to their first District Championship in ten seasons. Bentke, who is a senior, was a four-year starter on the Varsity level. He was also a unanimous First Team All-District Selection and the Brenham High School class valedictorian. Bentke will be heading to the University of Pennsylvania to play college baseball.

Meanwhile, 1B Luke Hardy was selected to the Class 5A All-State Third Team. Hardy, a junior, just completed his third season at the varsity level. In addition to All-State, he was also the unanimous selection for District MVP.
