WASHINGTON CO. APPRAISAL DISTRICT BOARD TO DISCUSS REAPPRAISAL PLAN

The Washington County Appraisal District Board of Directors will meet Tuesday to discuss the proposed 2027-28 reappraisal plan.

Per property tax code, the board must biennially develop a plan for the periodic reappraisal of all property in the appraisal district’s boundaries by September 15th of each even-numbered year.

As part of the discussion, board members will set a date for a public hearing on the plan.

In other business, the board will potentially change the appraisal district’s method of financing, in an item tabled from its April meeting.  Board members will consider shifting from invoicing budget allocations monthly to quarterly.  If approved, the quarterly allocations would begin on September 1st

Board members will also recognize appraisal district staff members for years of service.  They will then vote on a budget amendment and act on an engagement letter to perform the 2025-26 annual audit.

The board will meet Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the appraisal district office, 1301 Niebuhr Street in Brenham.
