DIME BOX VOTERS APPROVE $3 MILLION BOND FOR SCHOOL DISTRICT IMPROVEMENTS

Voters in Dime Box have given their stamp of approval for a $3 million bond to support improvement projects in Dime Box ISD.

The bond passed with a vote of 94-78, and will help with three major projects that have been eyed by the district for several years.

The school district will first look at renovations to address parking lot accessibility and safety and security.  It will then look to add a “connector” building between the elementary and high school.  The new building will house up to two general use classrooms and new bathrooms.

Finally, the district will seek renovation of the competition gym, including reconfiguring the gym floor to allow for seating on both sides of the court, and climate control or air conditioning.

The bond will not affect the school district’s tax rate of $1.17 per $100 valuation, which has remained the same for nearly a decade.
