The Anderson-Shiro Board of Trustees has hired the next principal for their Junior/Senior High School.

Dr. Matt Caffey will be taking over the position currently held by Dwayne Ross, who is retiring at the end of May.

Dr. Caffey has been the principal for the past six years with the Olney ISD.  Prior to that, he had been a secondary curriculum specialist for Athens ISD, and an assistant principal with College Station ISD.

He is also a former High School English/Language Arts teacher.

Caffey earned his Bachelor’s Degree in English and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M.

He then got a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin and completed his doctorate in Educational Leadership at Texas Tech.

Caffey’s wife Lani, who is a teacher herself, will also be joining the Anderson-Shiro ISD faculty.
