BELLVILLE WOMAN CHARGED WITH INTOXICATION MANSLAUGHTER AFTER FATAL COLLISION IN JULY

A Bellville woman now faces charges after a fatal crash in July.
Austin County Jail records show 49-year-old Jill Dollar McGinty was recently charged with Intoxication Manslaughter with a Vehicle. She had been in the Austin County Jail for an unrelated offense when she received the new charge, after information from toxicology reports was released.
The accident happened around 2:30 a.m. on July 17th on Highway 159 near Bellville.
DPS reports say McGinty was driving a 2013 Lincoln MKX west on Highway 159 and crossed the center stripe, entering the eastbound lane of traffic and striking a 2015 Ford Explorer.
According to DPS, the driver of the Ford swerved to try to avoid the Lincoln, but the vehicles still collided. They both ended up in a ditch on opposite sides of the roadway.
34-year-old Elia Guerrero of Bellville was pronounced dead at the scene. Her husband, Ruben, was injured but survived the crash.
