ONE TRANSPORTED AFTER ACCIDENT NEAR BRENHAM ELEMENTARY SCHOOL INVOLVING SUV, 18-WHEELER
Authorities are working the scene of a major accident this (Monday) afternoon by Brenham Elementary School.
The crash was reported just before 4 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 36 North and West Blue Bell Road.
According to Brenham Police Captain Lloyd Powell, a GMC Yukon ran into the back of an 18-wheeler.
The condition of the driver of the Yukon is not known at this time. No one else was inside the vehicle. The driver of the 18-wheeler was said to be okay.
Travelers are advised to be mindful of potential delays.

The driver of the Yukon has been identified as 52-year-old Jason Davis of Lubbock. According to Brenham Police reports, the crash occurred when Davis failed to control his speed, and ran into the back of the trailer on the 18-wheeler.
Davis had to be extricated from the Yukon by the Brenham Fire Department. He was then life flighted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, where he is listed in critical condition.
