Board members unanimously approved a Certificate of Appropriateness (CoA) application requesting to demolish the metal structure located at the southwest corner of West First Street and South Park Street. The motion to approve included the waiving of a 60-day stay of demolition.
The structure was built circa 1912 and is currently unused. At this time, Pressley Walcik, the new owner of the property, intends to leave the lot vacant after removing the building.

In other business on Wednesday, the board passed over a CoA application for 209 South Market Street, the former location of 4 Star Concert Hall.
The request is to build a structure covering an outdoor barbecue smoker for the new Sweet Ivy’s Café and The Southern Folly, but the application as submitted did not meet code requirements. The city expects to receive an updated application.
