A huge crowd gathered in the Blinn College Student Center Banquet Room for the 25th Annual Brenham Cub Football Hall of Honor.

Coaches, players, and fans of the Cubs paid tribute to three former players, who were inducted as individuals, and the 2009 State Runner-Up Team.

Jeffrey Fillmore was the first to be introduced. Fillmore talked about his time as an athlete at Brenham High School, and told a story about when he knew he wanted to be Cub.

Fillmore was a two year starter at wide receiver for the Cubs, who graduated in 2002.

Next up was Jeremy Hall, who was a multi-sport athlete at Brenham High School. In addition to football, he also played basketball, and baseball.

Hall was a free safety, who was a three year starter on varsity, and part of the 2009 State Runner Up team.

In his acceptance speech, Hall thanked his former coaches for their support and guidance.

Next came the recognition of the 2009 State Runner Up Team. Michael Buro was selected to speak for the team, who had memories from that season.

Buro talked about players coming from all over Washington County and becoming brothers. He also thanked Coach West and the staff, who he called "the best ever."

He also gave a special shout out to former teammate and friend Terrell Reese, who died tragically in a car crash in 2023.

Buro predicted that he would be back in a couple of years for Reese's induction into the Hall of Honor.

The final inductee was Brandon Collins, who holds multiple records as a wide receiver at Brenham High School. Collins graduated in 2007. He later went on to play college football, and professional football.

Collins has moved back to the area, and regularly runs a summer football camp for local youth with several former Cubs serving as instructors.

He also talked about his longtime family friend, current Cub Head Coach Danny Youngs.

Collins stressed the need to bridge the gaps between the older generation and the newer generation.
