WASHINGTON CO. APPRAISAL DISTRICT REVIEWS ANNUAL REPORTS

  

The Washington County Appraisal District Board of Directors on Tuesday reviewed and accepted the appraisal district’s 2024 annual report and mass appraisal report.

The reports summarized activity for the appraisal district this year, presented statistics and budget information, and explained the methods used by the district in the valuation of property within the county.

Among the data in the reports was a breakdown of the 2024 appraisal roll, which consisted of 51,639 parcels with a total market value of $15,369,648,727.  Those include 20,860 oil and gas parcels, 12,016 residential, 10,667 agricultural, 3,981 exempt, 2,237 business personal property, 1,432 commercial and 446 for utilities. 

A total of 3,862 formal protests on value were made, including 1,972 by property owners and 1,890 by tax agents.  The appraisal district received 1,065 informal protests.

In other business, the board discussed and prepared the evaluation document that will be used to conduct the annual evaluation of the chief appraiser in January.
