SALES TAX REBATES DOWN IN WASHINGTON CO. FOR JANUARY

  

Sales and tax distributions were down across Washington County to begin 2025.

The county’s rebate this month was $354,514, down 8.03 percent from the $385,468 received in January 2024.

The City of Brenham collected $794,408 in January, a 6.07 percent drop from last January, when it brought in $845,829.

The City of Burton’s January rebate is 6.56 percent below what it received a year ago, coming in at $9,345 in comparison to $10,002.

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar reported $1.1 billion in local sales tax allocations this month, up 0.3 percent from January of last year.
