BURTON SCHOOL BOARD TO HOLD FIRST MEETING OF NEW YEAR

The Burton School Board will gather on Monday for its first meeting of 2025.

The meeting will open with a public hearing to discuss Burton ISD’s Texas Academic Performance Report, Results Driven Accountability Report and Emergency Operation Plan.

Board members will then recognize the Burton FFA Greenhand Skills Team and State UIL Congress Team.  After that, they will hear a bond construction update and observe School Board Recognition Month.

In action items, trustees will consider approval of a one-time holiday bonus of $350, homeschool participation policy, and applying for a Learning Acceleration Support Opportunities (LASO) grant through the Texas Education Agency.

An executive session will be held for the board to discuss personnel and security, as well as for consultation with legal counsel regarding the district’s lawsuit against DSA Inc., Circle H Dirt Work and Excavation, and Round Top HVAC (21st District Court, Cause No. 38478).

The board will meet Monday at 6 p.m. in the Burton ISD Cafeteria.
