TEN SENTENCED IN 21ST DISTRICT COURT
Ten people pleaded guilty and were sentenced this week in 21st District Court before Judge Carson Campbell.
43-year-old Stephen Matthew Maurer of Brenham, sentenced to 8 years in prison for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, 4-200 Grams, a second degree felony, as well as Evading Arrest with a Vehicle, a third degree felony. Additionally, Maurer was sentenced to 553 days in state jail for Attempted Tampering with Physical Evidence and 555 days in state jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, Less Than a Gram, both state jail felonies.
25-year-old Kevontae Campbell-Sims of Houston, probation revoked and sentenced to 4 years in prison for Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon in Prohibited Places, a third degree felony, and Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, 1-4 Grams, a third degree felony. Campbell-Sims was also fined $500.
43-year-old Floyd Jermaine Richards of Brenham, sentenced to 2 years in state jail for Unlawful Possession of Metal or Body Armor by a Felon, a third degree felony, as well as 288 days in state jail for Attempted Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, Less Than a Gram, both state jail felonies.
38-year-old Craig Andrew Peldo of Austin, probation revoked and sentenced to 12 months in state jail for Fraudulent Use/Possession of a Credit or Debit Card Less Than 5, a state jail felony. Peldo must also pay a $500 fine.
33-year-old Alexander John Barraza of Cypress, probation adjudicated and sentenced to 6 months in state jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, Less Than a Gram, a state jail felony. Barraza was also ordered to pay a $459 fine.
22-year-old Treman Cole Daniels of Brenham, sentenced to 10 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Deadly Conduct – Discharge of a Firearm, a third degree felony. Daniels was also fined $1,000, ordered to complete 150 hours of community service and must maintain no contact with the victims in the case.
56-year-old Veronica Longoria of Brenham, sentenced to 4 years’ probation for Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or More, a third degree felony. Longoria was also fined $500 and must perform 100 hours of community service, have an interlock device installed on her vehicle for one year, spend 10 days in the Washington County Jail as a condition of probation, and undergo DWI education.
24-year-old Raymond RJ Juarez of Brenham, sentenced to 4 years’ deferred adjudication probation for three counts of Deadly Conduct – Discharge of a Firearm, a third degree felony. Juarez must also pay a $1,000 fine and perform 100 hours of community service.
17-year-old Manuel Luevano of Brenham, sentenced to 3 years’ deferred adjudication probation for Injury to the Elderly, a third degree felony. Luevano was also ordered to pay a $500 fine and $100 family violence fee to a shelter, perform 100 hours of community service, and complete a batterers intervention program, drug offender education program and anger management classes.
45-year-old Brandon James Brown of Baytown, sentenced to 64 days in the Washington County Jail for Tampering with a Government Record, a Class A misdemeanor.
