WASHINGTON CO. EXTENSION TO HOST ‘KIDS IN THE KITCHEN’ PROGRAM ON MEXICAN COOKING
The Washington County Family and Community Health Committee of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension is hosting a cooking program for children to learn more about Mexican cuisine.
“Kids in the Kitchen: A Mexican Fiesta” will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd from 8 a.m. to noon at the Washington County Expo Event Center in Brenham.
Participants will receive hands-on knowledge of traditional Mexican flavors and cooking techniques as they make homemade taco seasoning and ground beef, flour tortillas, salsa and sopapilla cheesecake. They will also be able to take home the items they make.
The program is for youth ages 8-14. Space is limited to the first 20 participants, and the deadline to sign up is Friday. Registration is $25 for 4-H members and $40 for non-members.
