Members of the Brenham Evening Lions Club and the Washington County Ladies Lions Club jointly held a Kids Sight eye testing day recently for the students at the Citadel Christian School.
The two clubs purchased the Kits Sight testing unit a decade ago for eyesight testing on the very young in Washington County.
Of the school’s 68 students tested, they had five that were referred to seek additional testing.
Lions Clubs worldwide test the very young with this unit, that was specifically designed to have a friendly face during testing, and that takes just seconds.
These Lion Club members are both state certified and testing volunteers.
Lions SightFirst is a flagship program of the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) that works to prevent and cure blindness worldwide by funding projects that build and improve eye care infrastructure, train eye care professionals, and provide sight-restoring services like cataract surgeries.
The Citadel Christian School reached out to the local Lions Club to set up the free eyesight testing.
