GIL JANNER TO RUN IN MARCH PRIMARY FOR WASHINGTON CO. PRECINCT 3 COMMISSIONER

  

The first candidate has declared for the seat of Washington County Precinct 3 Commissioner after Kirk Hanath’s decision to declare for county judge.

Gil Janner has announced his candidacy on the Republican ballot in the March primary election. 

Janner is a Precinct 3 native whose family roots in the Mound Hill community go back five generations.  He is a graduate of Brenham High School, Blinn College and Sam Houston State University with a degree in agribusiness.  He is currently a maintenance contract inspector for the Texas Department of Transportation and runs a small cow/calf operation.

Janner is a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill, where he will serve as church council vice president in January.  He also serves as chairman of the Washington County Soil and Water Conservation District #348, chairman of the Washington County Beef and Forage Committee, and a member of he Ag Advisory Board.  He regularly volunteers his time educating local youth at the annual Ag Day program. 

Janner says he fully believes in the county’s mission statement: “Washington County, where service exceeds expectations, community values drive innovation, and respect is earned by cultivating relationships through servant leadership.”  He says he is committed to serving the constituents of Precinct 3 and the residents of Washington County, and that he looks forward to meeting and addressing the needs of the community. 

The deadline for candidates to file for a place on the ballot in the March primary election is Monday, December 8th
