CURRY NAMED SUPT. OF YEAR AT BRAZOS VALLEY EDUCATOR AWARDS
Burton ISD Superintendent Vikki Curry has been named Superintendent of the Year by the Brazos Valley Educator’s Society.

Curry was honored at the annual Brazos Valley Educator Awards ceremony on Friday at the Ice House on Main in Bryan. The awards program recognizes outstanding teachers, staff members and administrators at schools across the region.
Curry said she was “very shocked” but also “humbled and grateful” for the recognition. She said the work she does is focused on what is best for the students and helping them thrive, adding that they are “knocking it out of the park” inside and outside the classroom.
Curry has served as Burton ISD’s superintendent since 2024, coming to Burton after having served as an assistant superintendent in Galveston ISD since 2021.

- Rookie Teacher – Caitlyn Davis, Bryan ISD
- Auxiliary/Transportation – Marilyn Mitchell, Bryan ISD
- Paraprofessional – Sandra Bass, Bryan ISD
