BLINN FRESHMAN LIVESTOCK TEAM 3RD AT DIXIE INVITATIONAL

  

 

Blinn College’s freshman livestock judging team placed third overall at the prestigious Dixie National Livestock Judging Contest recently held in Jackson, Miss.

The team placed second in the market steer division and the reasons competition.

Michael Rezendes placed fourth overall among individual competitors, finishing first in reasons and market steers and fifth in the Brahman division.

Brook Nervig placed fifth in the continental division, and Carter Burgin was sixth in reasons.

Twelve teams competed in the meet.

The livestock judging team is part of Blinn’s Agricultural Sciences Program, which has one of the most active extracurricular programs in the state, including livestock judging, the Agriculture Club, wildlife, agriculture mechanics, and horticulture.
