BLUE BELL GIVEN OK TO BEGIN ICE CREAM PRODUCTION AT ALABAMA PLANT

The Blue Bell plant in Alabama has been given the green light to start producing ice cream again.

The Alabama Department of Public health has confirmed that the Alabama plant is now able to begin producing ice cream with no restrictions.

All test for listeria have come back negative.

There has not been a beginning production date at the facility, but the company is building up inventory.

Blue Bell Ice Cream was linked to a listeria illness, which was believed to have been a factor in three deaths earlier this year.

In April, Blue Bell removed all products from their shelves in all of their markets.

In July, the creamery was lent  $135 million dollars by Fort Worth billionaire Sid Bass in exchange for one-third of the company.
