BRENHAM PD DEBUTS NEW VEHICLE

There is a new Brenham police vehicle out on patrol  but this one doesn’t have the red and blue lights on top.

Brenham police chief Rex Phelps showed off the new T3 Motion electric scooter during the Maifest parade Saturday.  Phelps says this vehicle was donated to the department and says this is the kind of scooter that police departments are using all over the nation at special events.  One of the vehicle’s strongest selling points is visibility—unlike horses, which make officers tower above the crowd, or motorcycles and bicycles, which positions them below pedestrians, the scooters place riders inches above the ground—high enough to see over people without  intimidating them.

Phelps says “This is  perfect tool for officers during special events.  It keeps the officer fresh in the event.”  The Chief also says the scooter also allows officer to see over the crowd somewhat so they can respond to medical emergencies.  Phelps also said it was a great crowd pleaser.

The donor of the scooter wishes to remain anonymous but Phelps still wants to thank them.
