COUNTY UNEMPLOYMENT RATE UNCHANGED IN FEBRUARY

  

Washington County’s unemployment rate remained the same in February as it was in January, 4 percent.

That’s considerably better than the 4.8 percent unemployment rate for the county in February of 2017. In area counties, Brazos County continues to have the lowest unemployment rate of 2.9 percent. Fayette County came in at 3.1 percent. Lee County’s rate rose slightly to 3.5 percent. Burleson County’s rate fell slightly to 3.8 percent, as did Austin County’s to 3.9 percent. Grimes County was better at 4.5 percent, but Waller County’s unemployment rate rose slightly to 4.6 percent.
