HIGHWAY PROJECT LIST DOES NOT INCLUDE WASHINGTON COUNTY

  

The latest proposition of road construction projects from the TYexas Transportation Commission, includes no projects for Washington County.

In November, voters approved a proposition that added $1.74 billion to the state highway fund.

Last week the Commission released a list of 201 road project had been selected.

While the list did include eight within the Texas Department of Transportation’s Bryan District, none of those are in Washington County.

Construction estimates for those area projects total about $40.5 million.

Included in the area projects are:

Highway 105 and FM 1774 intersection in Grimes County, safety improvements, $6.4 million.

Highway 21 in Brazos County, upgrading to freeway, $5 million; and road rehabilitation on another section of Highway 21, $1 million.

And, FM 60 in Brazos County (from Texas Avenue to Tarrow Street), miscellaneous work, $750,000.
