POLICE ARREST MAN WHILE SITTING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD

  

A 25-year old Brenham man was arrested Sunday night after a police officer saw him parked in the opposite lane of traffic on Martin Luther King Boulevard.

Officer Lance Weiss contacted the driver, Doyle Keith Brown, who appeared to be intoxicated and very nervous at the same time.  The driver had an alcoholic beverage in his hand.  In plain view he could see small baggy containing what he believed to be cocaine.  He also found a small amount of marijuana.

Brown was arrested for the possession of a controlled substance and marijuana in a drug free zone.  Brown was near three city parks when he was stopped.
