STAMNES CHOSEN TO HELP LEAD INTERNATIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY COMMUNICATIONS CONFERENCE

  

Washington County’s E-911 Director has been chosen as one of six public safety communications officials to lead an international conference next year.

Kristi Stamnes was named as a conference committee member to help organize the 2021 Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International Conference, set for August 15-18, 2021 in San Antonio.  The event, held annually in different cities across the United States, normally attracts around 5,500 attendees worldwide.

Each committee member will coordinate and plan conference activities, as well as serve as ambassadors for APCO International.  The organization serves the needs of public safety communications practitioners worldwide by providing expertise, professional development, technical assistance, advocacy, and outreach.

Conference committee members, along with Stamnes, include conference chairperson Kelle Hall, Public Safety Communications Manager for Highland Park DPS; Blaine Bertrand, Technical Services Director for the Randall County Sheriff’s Office in Amarillo; Audry Verver, Support Services Manager for the San Marcos Police Department; Cate Hedrick, MEDCOM Coordinator for Southwest Texas Regional Advisory Council in San Antonio; and Tammy Wright, Administrative Dispatcher for the Berlin Police Department in Berlin, Connecticut.
