TEXAS RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL TO AWARD SCHOLARSHIPS

  

 The Texas Renaissance Festival will award three $1500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors this year, one award being given to a candidate majoring in Fine Arts, Education, or history, English, or a foreign language.

This is the first time ever for the festival to offer these scholarships, which is a continuation of the Texas Renaissance Festival's annual School Days program

The scholarships will be award to students based on talent and academic performance, and are available to students in public or private schools, are also available to homeschool students in Harris, Montgomery, Walker, Grimes, Brazos, Washington, Austin, Waller, Burleson, Fort Bend, Brazoria, Galveston, Chambers, San Jacinto, and Liberty. Students who competed in any 2014 School Days Academic or Fine Arts Competition (excluding costume) are also qualified and invited to apply.

School Days is scheduled this year on November 3rd and 4th and is designed to be age-appropriate for middle and high school students.

The activities will be educational and entertaining, including jousting knights, musicians, jesters and magicians, who perform on stages and in areas throughout the village. Students have the opportunity to learn dances, the art of ancient falconry and the history of arms and armors.

The deadline to apply for these scholarships is April 1, and applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or eligible residents.
