WASHINGTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO RECERTIFY COMMUNITY HOUSING DEVELOPMENT

Washington County Judge John Brieden says even though federal funding for the Community Housing Development Organization has ended they still need to re-certify the program so it can continue. He says they need to recycle some unused money in the program that could be used for loans that could help low income get into housing.

The Washington County Commissioners will meet Tuesday at 9am at the courthouse with a mostly housekeeping agenda.

Judge Brieden does says the county commissioners  will be opening sealed bids for engineering services and program management  for services for the Texas Department of Agriculture’s Texas Community Block Grant Program.

The Commissioners will be acting on revoking the rules for the regulation of food establishments and the interlocal agreement with the city of Burton and Washington County for health inspection services.

Judge Brieden says these two items are so that the county can turn these duties over to a state inspector.
