CAPITAL MURDER INDICTMENT FOR A BRENHAM MAN
A 43-year old Brenham man has been indicted for capital murder after a deadly shooting at rural Washington County residence February third.
Anthony Wayne Burns was arrested soon after 36-year old Rachelle Nowak was shot in the back of her home in the 8700 block of FM 50. Nowak died soon after the shooting.
Burns was arrested when Sheriff’s Investigator Mark Whidden saw the suspect’s vehicle while it was traveling north on FM 50.
The 21st district grand jury also indicted Burns for the illegal possession of a firearm by a felon. Burns has been in the Washington County Jail since his arrest. No motive has been determined for the deadly shooting.
The grand jury handed down a total of 17 indictments in this week’s session. Many for drug charges.
Forty-two year old Toni Melton was indicted for possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone after her arrest on October 3rd of last year. Melton is charged with possession of methamphetamines in a drug free zone.
Forty-year old Dawn Tillian of Brenham was indicted for a theft up to $20,000 and the unlawful possession of a firearm on January 27th .
Alice Randle Wilson of Brenham was indicted for a theft of less than $1500 but with two previous convictions. The 54-year old Wilson was arrested on March 6th.
Thirty-one year old Sara Cantu of Brenham was arrested December 3rdfor credit card abuse, theft of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance.
Twenty-five year old Staci Chillson of San Antonio was indicted for possession of a controlled substance on February 14th.
Also indicted in this week’s session of the grand jury was 61-year old Lanny Blackwell Cole for his arrest on November 9th, 2013. He too, was indicted for the possession of a controlled substance.
Forty-three year old Barbara Ann Davis of Washington was indicted for the possession of a controlled substance. She was arrested in October.
Travis Colby Gurka was indicted for possessing marijuana in a drug free zone. He was arrested on February 21st.
Burns should get the Life/Death penalty for taking That womans life ,she has kids ….He should Not Be able to Live his life if Her life is gone
