$1.3-MILLION IN COCAINE CONFISCATED IN FAYETTE CO.

  

Fayette Co. sheriff’s deputies have made another major drug arrest.

According to Sheriff Keith Korenek, Wednesday afternoon the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Canine Unit, SGT Randy Thumann, Sgt. David Smith and K9 partner Lobos, stopped a Ford Escape on I-10.

According to Thumann, the driver and passenger gave conflicting stories and displayed “extremely abnormal nervous behavior”.  Thumann says they also displayed indicators of possible “narcotics trafficking”.

Approximately 13 kilos of cocaine was found in a child’s diaper bag and also in the center console of the vehicle.

According to authorities the cocaine has a street value of $1.3 million dollars.

The driver, 27-year old Alan Aleman of Mexico was arrested for felony cocaine possession and taken to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.

Aleman’s wife and two small children were released.
