$4000 IN FORGED CHECKS CASHED AT BRENHAM BANK

  

Brenham police are investigating a forgery case in which someone cashed nearly $4000 worth of phony paychecks at the Citizen’s State Bank.

Cpl. Chris Jackson of the Brenham police department says Officer Justin Schiller was called to the bank Thursday afternoon when the bank manager discovered the forged checks.   The eight checks were made to look as if they were paychecks with amounts ranging from $918 to $945.

Cpl. Jackson says they are investigating a similar case in Somerville.  Police are looking at surveillance tapes to identify the suspects.
