AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORY MONTH PROGRAMS NEXT WEEK

February is “African American History Month”, and KWHI is honoring it with a number of programs featuring Brenham High School students.

This Monday through Friday, February 12th – 16th, students from Coach Lanny Williams’ World History class will present short programs on KWHI about important and historic people in African American history. Among the people to be featured are boxer Mohammed Ali, writer David Baldwin, and Bessie Coleman, the first African American woman to hold a pilot’s license.
The programs will air at 7:48 a.m. and 5:25 p.m. on KWHI 1280 during the major newscasts, and are sponsored by Allen Dave Funeral Home, Brenham National Bank, Budweiser – Mike Hopkins Distributing, Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative, Emerson, and Citizens State Bank.
