Earlier this month, the Sheriff’s Office received a letter from local citizens showing their appreciation for Investigator Charles Holmes. Living in Bellville the last 7 years, they have gotten to know Investigator Holmes, saying that he stops by just to see if they need anything, he offers to mow, drive them to the doctor or asks if there’s anything else he can do to help.

Another letter was received from the Bellville Town and Country Garden Club that on February 14th, Deputy Jimmie Byrd, serving the county as Bailiff and Courthouse Security, assisted during their annual bake sale at the Austin County Courthouse. Deputy Byrd helped with setting up tables and transferring baked goods from people dropping their items off at the curb.  With the inclement weather on that day, this made his help even more valuable.

Sheriff Jack Brandes said, “Both of these men are great examples of the wonderful men and women of the Austin County Sheriff’s Office. Once again, I would like to say that we have excellent deputies that truly care about the people of Austin County and would like to commend Investigator Charles Holmes and Deputy Jimmie Byrd for going above and beyond the call of duty.”
