BRENHAM FCCLA WINS AWARDS AT REGION MEETING
The Brenham High School FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) participated in the region IV leadership Meeting and STAR event competition (Students Taking Action with Recognition).The theme of the meeting was “FCCLA: A World of Opportunity.” The event was held at the Galveston Island Convention Center on February 13th through 15th. Addyson Shroeder took second place in Career Investigation (Sr.). Elizabeth Schulze, Lundy Porter, and Olivia Howk received first place in Chapter in Review Portfolio (Sr.). Julia Lane and Meg Jahns received first place in Chapter in Review Display (Sr.). Hannah Damon and Whitney Blalock received first place in Chapter Service Project Portfolio (Sr.). Shelby Thiel received first place in Teach and Train (Sr.). Jakayla Dabera and Marshika Johnson received first place in Illustrated Talk (Sr.). Ali Roberts, Claire Hueske, and Shelby Olsen received sixth place in Sports Nutrition (Sr.). Baylee Leasure and Chesley Rudasil received first place in Life Event Planning (Sr,). All of these participants will be advancing to the state competition in Corpus Christi April 10th- 12th. Michelle Wellmann received honorary membership into the organization. Local FCCLA advisers; Linda Thaler, Jennifer Siemsglusz, Yvonne Tomlinson, and parent Jennifer Lane, also attended the region meeting.
