BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHES TWO FIRES WEDNESDAY

  

The Brenham Fire Department extinguished two fires Wednesday, one of which burned approximately 10 acres.

Just after 11:30 a.m., the Brenham Fire Department, Gay Hill Volunteer Fire Department, and Prairie Hill Volunteer Fire Department responded to 6055 Quebe Road for the reported grass fire.

The Brenham Fire Department says firefighters were on the scene for over two hours battling the fire. The fire reportedly spread to several different places, ultimately burning 10 acres. The cause of the fire is unknown.

The second fire was reported just after 7 p.m. Wednesday night.

The Brenham Fire Department and Salem Volunteer Fire Department responded to Anderson Lane and Zoo Lane for the reported grass fire. When the firefighters arrived on the scene, they found a fire on the Brenham State Supported Living Center’s property.

The brush pile fire burned approximately ¼ of an acre before it was extinguished.
