BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT FISH FRY A HUGE SUCCESS

There’s a sure way to tell Easter is on the way, and it doesn’t have anything to do with a bunny. It does however include all the markings of a traditional family gathering – one that’s for the whole community.

The Brenham Fire Department hosted their annual fish fry March 27th to the delight of over 1,250 people. It’s one of the department’s main fund raisers, and the support they receive every year is something they truly appreciate.

“We really feel like the annual fish fry is the first community event of spring. It means Easter is near, which is always a reason to celebrate. It gives everyone a chance to come out and enjoy a good meal and visit with friends they haven’t seen in a while,” said Chief Ricky Boeker.

“We want to thank everyone who came out and supported the department. We served over 1,250 people and I didn’t hear that anyone left hungry. We are so fortunate to have the community’s support. Believe me, it isn’t something we take for granted. It is because of our members’ dedication and the support of our community that the department is able to accomplish all we do,” he said.

Funds raised from the fish fry will be used for updating firefighting equipment, Boeker said.

“Again, from every member of the Brenham Fire Department and the Ladies Auxiliary we thank everyone for their continued support.”
